STUDIO POLICIES
Classes/Attendance
All students are expected to attend each class for which he or she has registered for. If your child is not able to attend class on a given day, please notify the studio at 781-545-3100 or duvaldancestudio@comcast.net. There will be NO refunds for any classes missed. Missed classes can be made-up by attending another scheduled class. Please call the studio to arrange for your make-up.
Levels/Placement
Classes are determined by age/grade level. Students will be promoted to a higher level at the teacher’s discretion. Visit our schedule page for class details.
Registration Fee
There is a non-refundable $35.00 registration fee per family payable once each year.
Rates/Multi-Class Discount
Tuition is based on a full academic year (September—June), and is then divided into 9 equal monthly payments (September—May). Payments will remain the same for each month, regardless of how many weeks there are in a month. This includes holidays and vacations and there is no extra charge for months containing five weeks. No refunds or reductions for any reason.
Tuition is due the 1st of each month September—May. If tuition is not paid by the 10th of the month, it will be considered late and a $10.00 late fee will be applied. Payments 30 days past due must be paid in full before the dancer(s) can participate in class. A fee of $25.00 will be assessed for any returned checks. Only cash or a credit card will be accepted after two returned checks.
Withdrawal Policy
For each student to gain experience and expertise in the art of dance, we strongly encourage each dancer to complete the full dance year and not to withdraw for any reason. A DDS drop form must be filled out and turned 30 days prior to a student’s withdrawal along with your final payment and one month penalty. Withdrawal will not be official until both the drop form and payment had been received.
Recital and Costumes
Our annual recitals are held in late June, and it is mandatory for each student to attend the dress rehearsal and recital. The recital fee includes your child’s recital costume(s), performance tights, hair and costume accessories, recital finale t-shirt, and professional recital DVD. Recital fees will be made payable in two installments on October 1st and November 1st, and are non-refundable. At the time of registration you will be given additional information. Due to strict deadlines we order our costumes in early December; therefore, no costumes will be ordered unless they have been paid for in full. All balances through May 1st must be paid in full before students can take their costumes home. Tickets are not included in the recital fee, and are required to be purchased by all, except the performing students, in order to help defray production costs. There are no limits on the number of tickets you can purchase; however, the studio can enforce a limit on sales for an unreasonable number of tickets.
Inclement Weather
In the event that Scituate Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, classes will be canceled. Please call the studio at 781-545-3100 to check if you are unsure. One snow day is allowed in the schedule.
Dress Code
All students must wear the appropriate dance shoes and clothing for each form of dance. No baggy tee shirts, sweatshirts or bottoms are to be worn for any form of dance. Bare legs and midriffs are not acceptable at any time. Students should wear their hair up neatly away from their face. Jewelry should not be worn to class. Each female student is required to wear a leotard and tights. Dance pants or shorts can be worn for jazz and hip hop classes. The studio will inform you of the proper type of dance shoes needed for each class.
Students must purchase their tap, ballet and jazz shoes, and dancers sneakers through the studio to ensure ALL students have the same style and color of shoes. Pointe shoes and dance paws can be purchased at any dance supply store (please check with your instructor for color and fit prior to purchasing). For your convenience, shoe fittings will be held during our Studio Open House days in late August and early September.

On the first of each month, we will email parents a newsletter with detailed information including up-coming dates, events, studio closings, ect. Please be sure to read each newsletter and any attachments thoroughly. It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure their email information is accurate.
